About Labour of Love Ministries
Labour of Love - productive work performed voluntarily without material reward or compensation. Work undertaken for the pleasure of it or for the benefit of a loved one.
This phrase has a biblical origin and appears in Thessalonians and Hebrews.
Thessalonians 1:2, 1:3
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and Labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and Labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Shakespeare didn't use the expression "Labour of love" in any of his works but it is possible that the writers of the KJV were familiar with his play Love's Labours Lost, 1588, and that they adapted the expression from that title.
What We Believe
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, to be the unfailing and authoritative Word of God. We believe in one God, who is Creator of all who has revealed Himself in three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Yet who is one in being. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is God incarnate, God in human form, and the expressed image of the Father, who, without ceasing to be God, became man in order that He might demonstrate who God is and provide the means of salvation for humanity.
He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary; that He is truly fully God and truly fully man; that He lived a perfect, sinless life; that all His teachings are true. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for all humanity as a substitutionary sacrifice for all mankind and through him we have now have the opportunity of everlasting life.
